Time Won't Wait
Written by: Kimberly Knaus
Mama's wearing her black dress today
Granny hugs me as tears run down her face
We gather our coats hung in the hall
The autumn breeze blows, and the maple leaves fall
I look at the clock as it's bells chime
Daddy had said it wouldn't lose time
He gave us that clock so we wouldn't be late
But today, I wish time would wait
Time doesn't wait for one single soul
Time doesn't care if you are lost or if you're whole
Time does not erase, Time is Free
It takes time to heal and holds the memories
We gather around, we sing and we pray
It was his time, and God took him away
I know in my heart that Daddy wanted it that way
I look at the clock as it's bells chime
Daddy had said it wouldn't lose time
He gave us that clock so we wouldn't be late
But today, I wish time would wait
Time doesn't wait for one single soul
Time doesn't care if you are lost or if you're whole
Time does not erase, Time is Free
It takes time to heal and holds the memories
Mama's wearing her black dress today
The autumn breeze blows, and the maple leaves fall
We gather our coats hung in the hall
He gave us that clock so we wouldn't be late
But today, I wish time would wait
today, I wish time would wait
