Teardrops Build a Mountain

Written by: Kimberly Knaus

You said she's just a friend, but I know better than that

and when you walked out the door and closed it behind,

your words, your voice, it lingers in my mind

I watched out the window as you drove away

with every beat of my heart, I wished more than anything that you would stay

Now I know every teardrop builds a mountain

Every angry word builds a wall

Every lie gathers around you, and you will take the fall

I am not here to catch you or be your saving grace

You had an angel in your corner, but the devil took her place

She will never have the years we once shared

She will never replace the love we once had

She will never be the me you used to know

I now know it's over and it's time for you to go

Because every teardrop builds a mountain

Every angry word builds a wall

Every lie gathers around you, and you will take the fall

I am not here to catch you or be your saving grace

You had an angel in your corner, but the devil took her place

You had an angel in your corner, but the devil took her place

Every teardrop builds a mountain

Every angry word builds a wall

Every lie gathers around you, and you will take the fall
